#BlackLivesMatter – These are the Voices You Should be Sharing

TW: police violence, racism, anti-Blackness, victim blaming

No one should be at risk because of the color of their skin. No one should be a target because of their body. When you have to warn people to be careful just because of the way they look or because of who they are, you know we have a serious problem. We should ALL feel safe in our bodies. As a white woman, I want to call out the institution of this country. I should not receive special treatment. Black people of all genders should feel safe. Women of all colors should feel safe. No one should be risking their lives to live in this country. When 49ers Colin Kaepernick knelt, he was actually taking a stand for the safety of the people in this country. THAT’S what I call patriotism.

But my voice is not the one that should be heard right now. There are people who are far more informed than I am and they are the ones to listen to. I have linked to only a few of them below – please share others in the comments. If you want to write about this topic specifically, please contact me.
